this pub has changed its alot better than it was b4 if u dont think this pub is good then u sould not live in didcot gooooooooooooooood

all I can say is that "any women who would want to pick up a man from the Waterwitch must be desperate" What men go up there? Think its just the same old sad drunks anyway with no life. Women up there are just a bad so think they all deserve each other.

the place is full of sad idiots. The women spend most of there time trying to pull men that are already spoken for. Bring back the old witch that were full of decent people

I moved to within 400 metres of the Waterwitch about two years ago, and since then it's pretty much become my 'local'.
No point mentioning the last leaseholders as they have gone, but the new guy 'Budgie' seems a decent bloke and he's brought some life to the place. I've not tried the Thai food upstiars but he has invested quite a bit into it and at least it's got an actual Thai chef.
Yes there is the occasional cockhead in there but there is everywhere. At least you can get on the pool tables (one's been recently reclothed which is nice), and if you want to get away from the aforementioned cockheads if they happen to be in there, there's always the quiet side bar. I had a roast in there and it was alright really.
For a quiet pint diring the week it's pretty good, at least you don't get treated like a nothing bt default like you do in the Queen's Arms, and it's not a cross between Didcot Paedophiles Association and an abbatoir, like Broadmoors or dare I say it, the Oak.

we ate upstairs and to be absolutly truthful it was bloody awful. Never see anyone up there.
Pub is still full of trouble makers and kids running riot with as you say "drunk parents", so always give the place a miss now. Such a shame as the pub has potential with the right landlord.

So who exactly are you White Head?!?!?! I've been in Didcot practically all my life and have drank in many pubs including the Waterwitch, Sprat, Crown Prince etc etc and I must say I have NEVER heard of you...
Anyway, back to the main matter, the Waterwitch has improved "slightly" like the idea of the Thai restaurant upstairs, very nice to. Good luck to the new landlord, hope he can keep the low life scum out and get some new customers. Pity about the too many kids running wild, while their "parents" (if you can call them that) get p*ssed.

Oh M for someone not interested in white head you do seem to want to diss me alot on this site. its not me who needs to go away its you M, go away and get a life! maybe one day you will have half the life I have and you will then know what it is like to get respect in this town. sorry that people like me better than you and buy me drinks all the time it just comes with being me. see you down the WW soon and you can buy me a drink or get a kick in the face. Sorry aint been about of late but bigger fish to fry! just been down WW for first time in a few weeks and must say still poor only two free drinks off the land lord in half an hour this is poor service in my book. As for you M big fish dont come bigger than me thats why they call me Jaws Im a great white, a predator of the weak like you if you think you know all about me then you best say sorry because I know who you are and next time Im down the WW you will get a kick in the face. live band also poor.

reading the reviews for all the pubs in didcot wondering where to go for a dring. I would suggest anything that has nothing to do with whit,pink, purple or any other couler head. why don't managers for these pubs put a stop to the pathetic comments they post as i'm sure it wouldn't just be me they put off visiting what are probably good pubs

are we talking about the same pub? Last time I was in there (2 weeks ago) it was full of children with drunk parents! Found it very intimidating as most of the old regular drunks where back in and up to their old tricks. The pub needs a local landlord who knows who the trouble makers are and perhaps it would get back to how it was. Think there where two people in the front bar and a few local drunks in the other bar with their kids.

The best Spaghetti Bolognaise I have ever had. With a touch of chilli! Shame Steve and Jen are leaving. Wish I had discovered it before Saturday.
Have fun in the quiet country pub near Henley. Will be over for a Guinness! ;-)

Great pub, good atmosphere seems to be getting better everytime I pop in. Shame the sexy barman doesn't work more often though...

I was under the impressoin this place was gonna bring some new stuff in to get it back to what it was...used to have a great laugh at the weekends in there...and thye witch had teams runnin all week!!!
