The George and Dragon is situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, partway between Oxford and Reading and not far from the famous Ridgeway path. We specialise in a warm welcome, well-kept beer (Greene King plus seasonal ales) and good, unpretentious food. We also host occasional live music and other special events. |

Disagree about the lack of veggie options- I had a lovely spicy bean burger here recently, and there were other options too.
Great burns night too- thanks Bill and Cielo.

Please note: Vegetarian's not catered for. We drove there for a Sunday lunch and they do not offer a vegetarian option. Pub looked nice, shame we had a wasted trip.

A great place to meet a good bunch of locals and drink some well kept beer served by friendly staff and a landlord and lady who have become well liked for there excellent manners and sense of fun unlike that grotty little pub in Chilton.Infact thankyou most kindly the landlord and landlady from that particular establishment we locals at the G&D have benefitted greatly by your chasing away all of your best customers .....

Driven out of our local pub in Chilton by truly awful new owners we sought refuge in the George & Dragon, what a difference !! We were made welcome by the friendly new owners (Bill & Cielo) and their staff. The pub is cosy and clean, the food freshly cooked and there are guest beers and good wines to go with it. Cielo & Bill frequestly lay on live music evenings to entertain their customers so we have fortunately found a new location for us and our friends to meet and enjoy ourselves.

What a fantastic little pub, you're welcome for a drink, you're welcome for a fantastic meal. I loved it every time I've been. .. . Good job Bill and Cielo. . .
